As a direct result of the Ad Hoc committee's recommendations, the
THPRD Board has committed funds to develop parks in our area.
Mr. Husen mentioned, at the Jackie Husen dedication ceremony, that
he offered his land to THPRD as a result of an article about the
committee that he saw in the paper. Community action and involvement
CAN make a difference!

New development within the Urban Growth Boundary means that our
area is growing rapidly. The Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation
District (THPRD) is aware that this
part of the district is underserved, and that available land for
new parks is going fast.
For these reasons, our committee was formed in December 1999, our
one-year mission to discover what residents want in the way of parks
and which areas need to be preserved and/or are best suited for
park development. Then we developed a plan and are giving our recommendations
to the District.
This website was created to inform area residents and others of
our mission and the options available, and to solicit your input.
Neighborhood Meetings
We held a series of Neighborhood Meetings to help area residents
understand our options and get involved by delivering their input
to the committee and Park District representatives.
