Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is a special service
District that was formed in 1955 by a group of foresighted citizens.
The District is governed by an elected five-member Board of Directors
which meets monthly at the District Headquarters. THPRD is supported
by property taxes and program revenues. The District is managed
by professional staff and our goal is to provide year-round recreational
opportunities for citizen of all ages.
The current District population is estimated to be 200,000 within
a service area of approximately 55 square miles. The District is
the sole provider of public park and recreation services for the
City of Beaverton and most unincorporated areas of eastern Washington
County.
Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District currently has three
Recreation Centers, one Skate Park, 7 miles of stream corridors,
approximately 200+ parks, six indoor Swim Centers, over 100 natural
areas, 97 outdoor tennis courts throughout the District as well
as maintaining hundreds of sports fields!
